Roll-up curtains allow for privacy when you need it. The spacious front porch is great for storing gear, furniture, bikes etc, and the large windows give great all-round visibility and let in lots of light. The outer is waterproof with taped seams, and the fully sewn-in groundsheet keeps out draughts and creepy crawlies. The Vango Icarus 500''s combination of space, flexibility and simplicity make it popular with anyone looking for a weekend tent for family camping or festival visits. Whether you’re camping solo or with the kids, an AirBeam tent will make pitching and dismantling a breeze. They''re so quick and easy to pitch that one person can pitch an AirBeam tent within minutes. All you have to do is take the tent out of the bag, pop a peg in each corner, pump up the inflatable beams and peg down a few guylines. Vango AirBeam tents use inflatable beams in place of traditional poles, allowing you to pitch a large family tent in a matter of minutes! Pitching time takes only 3 to 10 minutes (depending on the size of the tent) and will be up and ready in 4 easy steps. Set it up in minutes and your camp is ready! If you have used this product please leave a review, or your comments for other visitors, many thanks! It was money well spent.Īdd your review of the Icarus 500 Airbeam! These tents are expensive but, I have never regreted this. Then make a cup of tea and peg out the guys. The window blinds and cloth door do not need rolling and tieing up as they just bundle up into a tiny pockets (very simple and easy.) So much thought has gone into making this tent easy to use. Sleeps 3 yes but 2 really really comfortably. I would find it difficult to sleep in as confined a space as tent makers suggest. Although they say that it sleeps four in the bedroom area, I have always questioned this with all tents. The tent copes with very squally winds beautifully and does not leak in heavy rain. The Airbeam has many really nice features like easy sliding guy rope locks and a little velcro belts for tidying away guys at home time so no fiddling about trying to tie them all up. Pop up`s tend to be flimsy and really difficult to unpop. Because I am now past my mid 70`s I wanted an easy but robust tent so that, after a long drive, I was not exhausted with pitching. This tent is the best tent that I have ever owned and, I have had several. My model is the same as the 500 it`s just a Vango Icarus 400 which is a little smaller. Vango continue to be creative with their ideas.Ġ from 0 people found this review helpful, was it helpful to you? Also there are now little pockets to pop the guys into when it is time to pack up and go home. I see that the newer models now have the valves for pumping the beams up in a higher position on the airbeam now so, no more grovelling about on your knees. Because of the `A` frame stablizing belts the tent copes really well with squally weather. Billions of explosions and the tent took it very well, not a mark on it when I checked in the morning. It was for all the world like being in the middle of a huge New Years Eve fire work on the Thames. I experienced hail stones in the tent for the first time last month. I don`t know how I made this model mistake, must have been my OAP brain!Īnyway, the Kinetic Airbeam is still a great little tent.
